2015 Tournament Results

11/15/15 Lake Decatur - Club

Now that's more like it!!!! Eighteen boats and everybody catching fish, especially nice fish. This was our last tournament of the year and really fun to be a part of. Thank you, Decatur guys, for showing up and giving us a chance. We hope that everybody enjoyed the day and will consider giving us another chance next year. We already have 6 spring tournaments on the books and approved for 2016. Make sure you attend our next meeting. We need and welcome any comments, bitches, or suggestions to help us improve. We can't adjust without member input.

Enough about that, let's talk about those Decatur PIGS. Almost every team had a least one of those Big Boys from 12 1/2 to 13 1/2 inches and we weighed 10 fish over a pound. Some of the teams caught more than their share and 1st place went to the always tough father/son team of Dave and Brad Holmes. They are almost legends on Decatur and they once again lead the way with 8.46# and anchored that with a fish that weighed 1.4#. Second place went to Tony Camden and Jason Garner with 7.27# and their big was 1.27#. We know both these teams' reputations and expertise so it was no surprise when they told the crowd after the tournament that they were fishing shallow water with jigs under corks. Dave and Brad fished mostly visible wood on the main lake in basin 1, while Tony and Jason caught fish in as little as 6" of water but milk-ran the entire lake to come up with their string. Fred Brozio and Jimmy Lawson finished 3rd with 7.15# including a 1.37# fish to anchor their limit. They jig fished 6-7' deep over brushpiles mostly north of Rea's Bridge. World famous sand-bagger Marty Lehew and his partner Kevin Scoles caught the biggest fish of the tournament. It weighed 1.47#.

Once again, we paid 100% of the entry fees back and also paid out 50% of the field. We understand that this reduces the winner's share but that's OK. Our philosophy is "nobody gets rich and let's share the wealth". We paid out 9 places and it took almost 6# to get a check. The rest of the field looked like this:

91 fish weighed - total weight 81.21# Average 0.89# Congratulations guys, WELL DONE

9/26/15 Lake Shelbyville - Club

We just completed our first fall event on 9/26/15 on Lake Shelbyville. We drew 11 boats and signed up 7 new members so we just keep on growing! Thanks to all who participated in the event.

It was a struggle the last few weeks for most of us. Two of our veteran teams put a whoopin' on all of us rookies with a weight of 6.01 pounds and 5.47 pounds respectivelly. The next 5 boats were all under 4 pounds. Two boats were under 3 pounds and 2 boats did not weigh in.

5/30/15 Clinton Lake - Club

We held our second spring event at Clinton Lake in some wet and rainy conditions, but 3 teams decided to tough out the weather and enjoy a very nice day of fishing, albeit wet! Congratulations to Andy and Bud and thank you for donating your winnings back to the club. You guys are the "Real Deal"!

5/9/15 Lake Decatur - Club

Today was our first official event and we held it on Lake Decatur. We had 8 participants for this event and signed up 6 new members, bringing our season total to 34 members. Consensus was the shallow bite was done and you had to back off to a little deeper water to find the fish. Thanks to all who participated and helped with this event and to all the winners!

The winner of our St. Louis ball tickets were Ray White and Ron West. The winner of the 50/50 drawing was Kerry Toothman.
